Tech giant Apple has just settled on it’s latest purchase—the application Shazam, whose name is as associated to song identification as Apple’s is to computer manufacturing. It was a natural choice for Apple given the company’s recent success with their musical streaming service Apple Music—and thus this is precisely their motive.
The company said in a statement that the two pairing naturally, and allow users to “shar[e] a passion for music discovery and delivering great music experiences to our users.”
Neither Apple nor Shazam will say how much they settled on, however the figure 400m has been reported. This would be apples biggest purchase since Apple purchased rapper Dr. Dre’s Beat headphones.
