Elon Musk (Inventor, entrepreneur, and real-life Tony Stark) just announced that the roll out of the highly anticipated Tesla 3. But, will it be worth the sticker shock?

Early this week, Musk tweeted “Model 3 passed all regulatory requirements for production two weeks ahead of schedule. Expecting to complete SN1 on Friday.” The model will go for $35,000 and is able to accelerate from 0-60 in just under six seconds, while also travelling at least 215 miles on a single charge. This will make it cheaper, but less endurable, than the Chevy Bolt, Teslas’ biggest competitor, which for $37,500 but can travel 238 miles on one charge. Only time will tell if the demand will provide the Tesla Model 3 with the kind of splash it needs, but one thing is for certain; with the company posting a loss of $397 million this quarter, in spite of $2.7 billion in profits, the new model’s success might be vital to the company.
