This article will discuss why hip hop is the best genre of music. There is so much discussion surrounding what genre of music is the best. In this article, I will not be talking about the business side of music, which is really not the main reason for talking about music in the first place.
I will be talking about the music itself and how I personally feel about it.
The way I see it, hip hop is the greatest genre of music to date. For this article’s purposes, I will be discussing the first 10 or so years of the genre.
The genres that I am going to be discussing are what is considered hardcore rap, nu-metal, and gangsta rap. I will also be discussing why these particular genres are not the best.
Hip hop music is one of the oldest genres of music out there. The entire genre of hip hop started on the streets of New York City.
Lyrics with negative impact
It began as music that was based around the street life of the neighborhoods. It was a form of music that was driven by the young street rapper.
These rappers’ lyrics were often about the prostitutes, drug dealers, crack whores, and the pimps that the rappers knew personally.
These rappers often didn’t care about people’s opinions in the “inner city”; they only cared about what they wanted the people they were rapping to think.
I think that the music was great to listen to, and the songs were catchy, but the genre became very weak when it was going mainstream. Even when it became mainstream, the music became formulaic and generic.
It became about the fact that there were a lot of rappers doing a lot of drugs.
The music became dull and repetitive
I also think that the rappers that made the music were lazy and didn’t take the time to come up with unique and original lyrics that stood out in a sea of generic street rap lyrics.
Fast forward to the late 2000s, when hip hop was going through a drought. The music that was made all had to have a “message” to it.
Each rapper started to take on the cause of social, political, or racial injustice. This was the golden age of hip hop.
Now that it has been a while, it is time to discuss some of the greatest rappers of all time and why they are the greatest. I will also give my own opinion on why each rapper is the greatest.
Hip hop has evolved
Each era of hip hop has had its own style and sound. When it comes to today’s hip-hop artists, there are a few that stand out the most.
One of the most famous rappers of all time, Drake is one of the best rappers today. While I know a lot of his music has become repetitive and formulaic over the years, he can still come up with original lyrics and be able to produce great music.
Drake’s hip-hop music is very catchy, and it is enjoyable to listen to.
Another rapper that I feel is very underrated is Kendrick Lamar. He has definitely made some interesting music, but not many people really hear the sound of the beats that he has created and how they match up with the lyrics that he has written.
Kendrick has become a bit of a cult hero over the years, and he has grown a much larger following than he probably ever imagined.
Another very notable rapper is XXXTentacion. The rapper is known for his social commentary.
In the music video for “Look At Me!” he wore an oversized baggy shirt, bleached dreads, and big sunglasses. This was a bold move for a rapper to take.
The music video is very provocative
Overall, the greatest rapper of all time is Jay-Z. Many people say that he is the greatest rapper of all time, and I have to admit that he is probably the greatest rapper.
He has been in the business for so long that he has learned a lot about handling himself and running his label. Many other rappers can’t say that they are running their own label and that they have people working for them to help out with the day-to-day tasks.
Jay-Z and his company, Roc Nation, have become one of the most successful hip-hop labels. Jay-Z has become a wealthy man and is a family man at the same time.
The first hip-hop song I ever listened to was “Rapper’s Delight.” That song introduced me to all the things that I would be exposed to.
Since then, I have learned so much about music and how to talk about it. I listen to a lot of hip hop now, and I can talk about rap with ease.
The greatest rappers of all time are Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and XXXTentacion.
